['tʃəːtʃəv ȓə'breȓrɪn; englisch »Kirche der Brüder«], aus der Gemeinschaft der Dunkers in der ersten Hälfte des 18. Jahrhunderts hervorgegangene nordamerikanische Freikirche. 1723 wurde in Germantown (Pennsylvania) die erste Kirche gegründet (1835 etwa 30 000 Mitglieder). 1894 begann die Kirche mit der Missionsarbeit in Indien, 1922 in Afrika, 1946 auch in Südamerika. Heute zählt sie etwa 200 000 Mitglieder Sie ist kongregationalistisch organisiert, übt Fußwaschung, Nächstenliebe, Friedenskuss, Krankensalbung. Eine Eidesleistung wird abgelehnt. Neben Quäkern und Mennoniten gehört die C. of the B. zu den »Historischen Friedenskirchen«. - Zahlreiche neue Gemeinschaften sind durch Abspaltung entstanden.
